Flora Yang - Chair
Flora is in her final year at the Beedie School of Business concentrating in Marketing and Management Information Systems. She is currently completing an internship in product management at a global software company. This is Flora’s third year at CaseIT, starting in CaseIT 2014 as a Sponsorship Executive and then Director of University Relations in 2016. Flora knew she had to come back to experience the event again and continue meeting all of the wonderful competitors and coaches attending. Apart from school, Flora enjoys exploring new and old cities by indulging in local delicacies and famous eats. Flora is excited about leading the Organizing Committee this year and is beyond thrilled to make even more memories and connections at another successful year of CaseIT.
Zachary Chua - Vice Chair of Internal Relations
Zachary is currently a fourth-year student in the Beedie School of Business pursuing a concentration in Management Information Systems (MIS) and Operations Management. Through his experiences with CaseIT, Zachary is eager to learn more about the MIS industry and the nature of case competitions all while developing necessary skills to succeed in project management and events planning. Aside from CaseIT, Zachary is also involved in the Beedie Community as a business mentor for the BASS Mentorship Program. Zachary is an outgoing individual who loves to make people laugh through his impersonations of various cartoon characters and fellow friends. In his spare time, Zachary follows all things basketball and loves to stay active by playing sports and going to the gym, while playing online games to relax. He is beyond excited to help lead CaseIT this year to create an unforgettable experience for not only for competitors but also the Organizing Committee.
Gianna Wu - Vice Chair of External Relations
Gianna is a fourth year student at the Beedie School of Business concentrating in Management Information Systems and Human Resources Management. She started her CaseIT journey as a Team Host in 2015 and returned as the University Relations Executive in 2016. This year, Gianna is very excited to welcome CaseIT 2017’s delegates as the Vice Chair of External Relations. Outside of school, Gianna enjoys buying anything with a panda on it, wandering the city, and trying the variety of cuisines Vancouver has to offer. She is looking forward to another exciting and memorable year with CaseIT 2017 and meeting top business students from around the world.
Bruce Beh - Director of Technology
Originally a Communications & Business student from Calgary, Alberta, Bruce moved to Vancouver, BC just over three years ago and is now in his last year at Simon Fraser University’s Interactive Arts + Technology Program with a Business Minor. As a Director of Technology in CaseIT 2017 he is looking to expand on his experience in the world of design and build networks and relationships between Business and Design students. Outside the world of school he is an avid hockey fan and cheers for his home team the Calgary Flames, but we’ve been told he is also a secret Canucks fan. On his time off he enjoys exploring new places around the city to satisfy his craving as an “amateur photographer”.
Solomon Hsu - Director of Photography
Solomon is in his final year of study at SFU, studying interactive arts and technology. Keen on telling better stories, he developed a passion for photography, and a deeper understanding of design and film developed alongside his journey to keep learning. Having shot a variety of events and dabbled in a multitude of photographic genres, he joins CaseIt 2017 this year as the director of photography, working closely alongside the creative journey of CaseIt 2017 to bring the brand to life over the next few months. Outside of school, he is a digital producer at Teekay shipping in Vancouver, where he does more of the same, working to tell better stories through media and design.
Marketing & Media
Edwy Woo - Director of Marketing & Media
Edwy is a design student from the School of Interactive Arts and Technology, accompanied with a minor in Business at SFU. He strives to create thoughtful design solutions that impacts business processes. Having been part of CaseIT since 2014, his passion for creating memorable experiences has brought him back as the Creative Director for the third year. Apart from CaseIT, Edwy enjoys exploring nooks and crannies, finding good-vibe tunes, soaking in golden sunsets, and everything orange. Above all, Edwy is truly excited to develop new global connections with all the bright and talented individuals this year.
Anna Valueva - Marketing and Media Executive
Anna is a third-year student in School of Interactive Arts and Technology focusing her education on exploring ways to communicate information through clean design aesthetics. As it is her first year with CaseIT, Anna hopes to bring her professional knowledge and experience to help the team come up with creative design solutions. Working as a visual designer during co-op placement, she learnt to value teamwork by taking challenges of a start-up company she is working at. Anna believes that cooperating with people from various professional fields helps to improve the quality of the produced work. Aside from school, she enjoys travelling and exploring city life by walking through urban surroundings.
Azat Bayandin - Marketing & Media Executive
Azat is in his fourth year in the School of Interactive Arts & Technology at Simon Fraser University, hoping to grow as a User Experience designer in the future. Currently he’s working as a Visual Designer at Visier Solutions Inc. He is also very passionate about photography, and developing keen interest in videography. Apart from that, he often finds himself completing variety of hands-on tech projects both for his classes and personal use. As this is his 1st year with CaseIt he is very excited to be apart of the team that year through year brings strong and innovative minds together from all over the globe. He is eager to learn more about MIS industry and how design and technology together can transform it to a higher level as he brings something new to the talented and hardworking team of CaseIt 2017.
Entertainment & Hospitality
Cyrus Wong - Director of Entertainment and Hospitality
Cyrus is in his fourth year at the Beedie School of Business concentrating in Human Resources and Management Information Systems. He is also passionate about Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and would like to work on start-ups in the future. This is Cyrus’ third year on the CaseIT organizing committee. Although he won’t be hosting a team this year, he is still beyond excited to meet all of the CaseIT 2017 participants, and embark in new friendships and relations. In his spare time, he likes to YouTube, play board games, and watch food videos- Gordon Ramsey is his idol.
Cynthia Lee - Entertainment and Hospitality Executive
Cynthia is in her second year at Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business, concentrating in Marketing and seeking opportunities to pursue her passion for media and technology. She was a Team Executive at CaseIT 2016 and loved her experience so much that she knew she had to come back. Outside of the classroom, her enthusiasm has led her to a position in JDC West 2017’s Social team while working two part-time jobs in sales and childcare. Cynthia is incredibly excited to welcome the participants of CaseIT 2017 to Vancouver’s finest dining, most exciting excursions, and friendliest CaseIT organizing committee.
Saba Ghodrat-Zadeh - Director of Sponsorship
Saba is a fourth year student at the Beedie School of Business. She is concentrating in Operations Management and Management Information Systems, along with a certificate in Business Analytics Decision Making. This is her second year on the CaseIT organizing committee, involved as a Sponsorship Executive last year. Through her sales experience, Saba recognized her interest in operational efficiency. She has since refined those skills working as a Business Analyst for a Financial software implementation and chart of accounts redesign over the past year. She looks forward to meeting the competitors, judges, and sponsors at another successful year of CaseIT.
Stephanie Chow - Sponsorship Executive
Stephanie is a fifth year business student concentrating in Operations Management and Management Information Systems. In the past she has been a part of Enactus SFU and the Student Marketing Association. This is her first year with CaseIT, and she plans to use past sales experience and collaborate with team members to create the best CaseIT experience for competitors. When she’s not busy with school or work, Stephanie loves travelling to meet new people and try new foods.
Kitty Guan - Sponsorship Executive
Kitty is a fourth year student at the Beedie School of Business, concentrating in Management Information Systems and Operations Management. After being a Team Executive in CaseIT 2016, she is excited to be back on the CaseIT team as a sponsorship executive. Not only was Kitty able to learn about the dynamic MIS industry at last year’s event, she also met many new friends along the way. Outside of school, Kitty enjoys exploring beautiful British Columbia, binge watching Netflix, and crushing her friends at board games. She is ecstatic to be on the Organizing Committee again and cannot wait to create new memories and connections at this year’s competition.
Susan Ma - Director of University Relations
Susan is currently in her fourth year at Beedie School of Business and is planning to concentrate in Management Information Systems and Operations Management. Her CaseIT journey began as a team host in 2015, and returned to the committee as a Sponsorship Executive in 2016. This year, she is glad to be on the CaseIT team as the Director of University Relations. In her spare time, she enjoys playing badminton, watching movies and spending time with her friends. Being raised in Vancouver, she also has a passion for the great outdoors and especially enjoys trips to the beach. Susan is excited to see the new experiences CaseIT 2017 will bring for her this year!
Joyce Wu - University Relations Executive
Joyce is a second year at the Beedie School of Business with an intended concentration in Accounting and Marketing. This is her first year on the CaseIT Organizing Committee, and she is beyond excited to foster innovative ideas and international student engagement. Having competed and won InTech 2016, she knew she wanted to be a part of making CaseIT 2017 the best year yet. In addition to CaseIT, Joyce is involved with BASS as a Marketing Coordinator. Outside of school, she enjoys writing, baking, and spending time with her friends. Joyce is excited for the upcoming months, as she gains new experiences, meets young talent from all around the world, and works to bring CaseIT another unforgettable year.
Finance and Admin
Linda Pan - Director of Finance
Linda is a third year Finance and Accounting student at the Beedie School of Business. This is her first year with CaseIT as the Director of Finance. After coming back from her co-op experience with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Assurance, she is excited to utilize what she learned to assist her in this role. Currently, she is also finishing her Canadian Securities Course. Linda is excited to meet all the competitors that are taking apart of the competition and to see what CaseIT has to offer this year.
Ginny Hsiang - Director of Logistics
Ginny is in her third year at Simon Fraser University, and beginning her second year with CaseIT. She studies business and international studies and is interested in case analysis and project management. Ginny is also a part of the JDCW debate team, which will be her second year of involvement in the competition. She aspires to work abroad one day so she can travel the world whilst developing her career. Outside of school, she helps manage YoutHatch, a local non profit that helps students get engaged with salmon rearing activities and stream enhancement. She also loves going to the gym and spending time with family and friends. This year as Director of Logistics, Ginny is very excited to implement some positive changes to CaseIT, so delegates can have an even more enjoyable experience. She’s very excited for CaseIT 2017, and can’t wait to meet everyone!
